Trip N1 - India

India was the first country I ever visited as a model. Mumbai (Bombay), is a very interesting place. For most people, it might not sound like a fancy destination, but for me, i felt complete curiosity. How could they know anyway? They have never been there. So I trusted my gut. Thankfully my mom has supported me always, no matter what. And yes, it is overwhelming but I made friends immediately, and I believe the friends you make in each journey, can make or break an experience.

Suddenly we were 5 girls, walking around, taking tuk tuks, shooting campaigns, going to dinner, fancy houses, parties. We really lived the life. It was a lot of fun. I made so many friends who 5 years later I still keep in touch with. And for me, if I don’t make friends somewhere, it means that place does not match my vibe. It does not fit with me. My biggest issue was with the food, because I cannot tolerate spice, and well, they love it.
You must also be extremely careful with food poisoning. That’s rule Number .1 (happened 3 times to me already so hear me out)

But If you take care, and stay hydrated, it’s a very cool place to explore. Indian people will always make sure you are well taken cared of. It’s part of their culture. Did they stare at me because of my shaved head? Of course. But in most countries they do that. I remember my agent at the time said “do you think i sent you there first for no reason? India prepares you for the rest of the world” And she was totally right, it’s chill, but a lot at the same time. You learn to be patient. You look at things differently. I left with no earnings, money-wise. But experience-wise? Friends-wise? Rich. So even if a place doesn’t sound like the first choice you would pick, doesn’t mean it will be a bad experience. You will be stronger from it. And maybe you will remember it forever.
